Out and about in November

November update

Whilst the Christmas Dinner was the only formal Club function planned for November, LAC members were out and about enjoying their vehicles.

Aussie Muscle Car Run

Four Lincoln Auto Club members and their Co-drivers participated in the 2016 Aussie Muscle Car run.  The above photo shows the full field on the  Phillip Island start grid. This day proved the highlight apparently of this year’s run.  The course took them from Adelaide via the South East to Halls Gap, then on to Phillip Island, before returning to the finish in Renmark via Bendigo and central Victoria.

Left to right:  Lincoln Auto Club members Dave Nicholls, Cliff Carpenter and Jason Maloney and their respective Co-drivers pictured prior to departing Port Lincoln for the Muscle Car Run start in Adelaide.kym

Kym Anderson had left the day earlier, so he gets a separate photo as he travels in convoy towards Halls Gap in the Grampians.

The 2017 event is planned to leave from the Sydney Motorsport Park, via Canberra to Winton Raceway, Central Victoria.  From there to the Ford proving ground in the You Yangs, on to the Great Ocean Road, before finishing in Mount Gambier.  There is plenty of buzz in the air from this year’s participants thinking of going again.

Port Lincoln Race Day

The weather proved similar to the Pistons and Props Day, cold, windy with intermittent showers.  Not enough to deter eight members from displaying their vehicles and providing the Lincoln Racing Club with the opportunity of mixing horsepower with horsepower!

The Teakle Auto Sprint boy’s (also Lincoln Auto Club members) were there as well promoting next year’s Easter event.  The proposed sprint course drew a lot of interest, and they were able to pick up a Sponsor as well!  It proved a rewarding day for them.

Whilst not on the TAB or the Tote, the odds were by far in favour of the vehicles.  Much more horsepower on display than there was on the track!

Charging to Tumby

Seen recently in Tumby Bay………..

…….three Chargers gazing out to sea on what was obviously a beautiful cruising day!  Should be more of it!

Farewell to the Griffens’

The Lincoln Auto Club Committee and Members wish Kathy and Adrian all the best for their “retirement” in Mount Gambier.  We also thank them for the many collective years they have served as office bearers of the Lincoln Auto Club.
