Hill Climb to Tod River Reservoir Run.
Report of Sunday, August 23
Sunday morning August 23 a group of our Members keenly showed up in front of Sign FX workshop to set off for our “Hill Climb to Tod River Reservoir ”. Today’s event was sponsored by Sign FX and West Coast Auto Electrics. Although in wintery condition, it was great to see that a dozen Members were not scared off getting a little mud & a few drops of rain onto their Classic Cars. We forget that cars of any age were designed for all sort of road condition. We appreciated very much to meet some new Members and admired their rolling treasures, as well ! Our club membership has grown a fair bit in recent years. It’s a nice Hobby, isn’t’ it ?
Leaving Sign FX workshop we travelled the scenic journey via Lincoln Town’s Tasman Terrace, North Shields to Poonindie. Turned off Lincoln Highway at Poonindie Church, drove past “the Blue Tree” up White Flat Road. We enjoyed driving past surrounding farmland showing off its beauty. Not to forget to mention, the brightly yellow flowering canola fields along the way to Tod River Reservoir.
Upon arrival and placing our Treasures into “Photo Shot Position”, we enjoyed a very pleasant BBQ lunch with conversation. Our usual Raffle was taken with proud winners of either a club shirt or a fuel voucher. “ Eyre Fuel” vouchers won by Karen Miels and Audrey Ottens. Club T-Shirt won by Heather Ellis and Richard Miels ! We were able to drive or walk up to the dam wall to check out water level & the lovely views over surrounding hills. Yes, Spring is on its way!
This was our second event since “Corona” has hit Australia. We all hope to be able to carry on this way enjoying driving our Classic Cars to a couple further 2020 event outings.
