Coffin Bay and Back – Sunday 15 May 2016
Perfect weather saw a good muster of Club members meet outside Heather’s Curtains on the morning of Sunday 15th May. Following a bit of idle gossip (some of which, no most actually, related to cars), along with some impartation of information to prospective members, all made their way to the Coffin Bay Hotel for lunch.
It was at the Hotel that the group was joined by other Club members from Tumby and Cummins. It was a tremendous roll up with a total of 65 people in 34 vehicles and 4 motor cycles. Amongst the gathering we had several new vehicles which most members probably had not seen. They included Peter Southam’s old Overland buckboard, and Rick Cunningham’s XY Falcon, Dylan Pedler’s Valiant, Gerald Pedler’s HQ Monaro and Mark Paynter’s Norton Commando.
Together the vehicles made a most colorful and interesting spectacle in the Hotel car park. It was a happy gathering at the tables for lunch (maybe not quite so for those last to order as some of the meals took a long time in arriving), during which lucky attendance raffle of a $50 fuel voucher was won by Terry Virgin (Porsche 911) who joined the Club that day.
Members left at their leisure with many venturing to different venues in Coffin’s and ‘Lincoln for afternoon coffee. The event was very successful and it is hoped that future outings are as well represented.
