2020 Show & Shine

What a day! What a show! What a crowd!

2020 Show & Shine

Huge crowd appreciates a classic display.

The weather forecast left us with a little concern, but come Sunday 5th January, following an overcast and slightly cool morning, the day progressed to providing perfect weather for our signature event.

And what an event it was!

With 127 vehicles, including some from Adelaide, Whyalla, Cleve and Tumby Bay, we presented a truly classic show, to not only 1,500 passengers from the cruise ship Vasco Da Gama, but to who knows how many other visitors and locals.  Bottom line – a huge crowd.

The cruise ship in town certainly boosted the crowd numbers.

And it wasn’t only the vehicles that made the day. We had a great selection of food and coffee, and music from ‘The Tin Shed Rockers’ provided entertainment and incentive for the ‘Rock a Billy’ exponents to show their stuff – and many others to just ‘boogie’ along.

Classic cars and classic tunes go together!  Many cruise ship passengers joined in the action and commented on the excellent atmosphere created by the Show & Shine.

Throw into the mix two fantastic aerobatic performances by James Hart in his Pitts Special. Brilliant!

The crowd was forced to turn their eyes skyward as once again James Hart enthralled all with his exceptional aerobatic skills.

The Events Committee, along with many helpers, people who exhibited, great co-operation from our City Council and general support from our Community made this event possible, and all being well, it will eventuate again next January.  In all, a great atmosphere prevailed.

Thank you one and all.

Not an adult member yet, but keep an eye on Jett Zerk in his Escort. Did dad have some influence here???

Woodsies immaculate GT drew the usual attention, as did the Hartmobile (below).

It was great to see Whyalla Vintage Car Club members, Sam & Mark Freer make the effort to visit with their Ford XB GS
