Huge crowd appreciates a classic display.
The weather forecast left us with a little concern, but come Sunday 5th January, following an overcast and slightly cool morning, the day progressed to providing perfect weather for our signature event.
And what an event it was!
With 127 vehicles, including some from Adelaide, Whyalla, Cleve and Tumby Bay, we presented a truly classic show, to not only 1,500 passengers from the cruise ship Vasco Da Gama, but to who knows how many other visitors and locals. Bottom line – a huge crowd.
And it wasn’t only the vehicles that made the day. We had a great selection of food and coffee, and music from ‘The Tin Shed Rockers’ provided entertainment and incentive for the ‘Rock a Billy’ exponents to show their stuff – and many others to just ‘boogie’ along.
Throw into the mix two fantastic aerobatic performances by James Hart in his Pitts Special. Brilliant!
The Events Committee, along with many helpers, people who exhibited, great co-operation from our City Council and general support from our Community made this event possible, and all being well, it will eventuate again next January. In all, a great atmosphere prevailed.
Thank you one and all.
