A record 132 well loved and presented vehicles made for a spectacular Show & Shine event to open the Lincoln Auto Club’s 2018 year.
Ideal weather, a great venue, beautiful cars, live music and energetic Rockabilly dancing, were all elements that kept a massive and appreciative crowd interested throughout the day.
Of the 132 vehicles on display, various GMH models made up the greater portion with 44 entrants.
There was some classic stuff, some old stuff and some hot stuff!
………….. and both sides of the Atlantic
There was a fair range in the Mopar line-up as well………………
………………. which included two beautiful examples of the Dodge Phoenix model.
Numbers were boosted by the involvement of the Teakle Auto Sprint display, which included many LAC member’s vehicles, and by a good representation from our neighbouring Club, Road Runners.
Representing both Road Runners and the Lincoln Auto Club was Phil Butterwoth with his 1987 VL Commodore Police car. We featured Phil’s 1979 HZ in a previous article, so this makes TWO Police cars in his stable. Guess being a member of the SA Police Historical Society helps!
Then their was the music, and the dancing. Classic cars, mixed with period matching rockabilly made for a vibrant atmosphere. Hopefully these ingredients will help the Show and Shine grow in the future.
Parked overlooking the dance floor, the Paynter’s classic rods matched the Rockabilly theme beautifully.
Elvis had not left the building! He was overlooking proceedings all afternoon!
